EPortfolio Task

Functions of design can help to develop and improve personal and cultural expression.
Inquiry questions such as these should be developed by teachers and students:
Factual:
What is a custom?  What is a tradition?   What is a culture?
Which artifacts, customs and traditions demonstrate cultural heritage?             
How do we preserve our cultural heritage?

What is the function of design in personal / cultural heritage?

Should we be concerned about losing our cultural identity as we become global citizens?

Task:


1. Research and create a presentation on ways design can improve communication of personal / cultural heritage.


2. Research on the functions of design in personal/ cultural heritage.

3. Should we be concerned about losing our cultural identity as we become global citizens?

4. Create a presentation about the culture you are indulging in:
  • introduction of the culture
  • the history of the culture
  • some of the cultural beliefs/ traditions
  • customs and heritage

UNIT SYNOPSIS:

The challenge is to come up with an ePortfolio's unit synopsis of the following items:( IB Requirement)

  1. Specify the problem area you want to focus on; Culture, traditions, customs and cultural heritage.( food, dresses, music, games, ceremonies, houses, religion, lifestyle, dances, artifacts, historical sites, economic activities, e.t.c
  2. Specify the client, clients,or audience.( person, community, society, county, country, school, tribe, clan e.t.c
  3. Identify the probable IT solution or solutions that will be ideal based on the problem and clients needs. ( gaming, mobile apps, interactive magazines, cook book, interactive websites- coding, virtual tour, tutorial/educative video, data base, documentary e.t.c
  4. categorically analyze how such a tool will stretch your skills and knowledge to full potential. Give a justification.
